26 Oct
October Already?!
“It’s nearly the end of October already!” exclaimed my 13 year old daughter.
She was echoing a thought that entered my own consciousness from time to time. It was also yet another signal that my daughter was growing up.
Vague memories of me as a girl thinking that Christmas would never come floated into my mind. It didn’t matter if it was January, or early December, Christmas was always too far away
I don’t know when the change happened, but the day came when I felt that Christmas was rushing up on me, the year disappearing far too quickly.
So here we are nearing the end of October. “My, how the year has flown!” How many of us have said that as the end of year activities begin to make themselves felt.
Before we know it another year will be passed and a new one born. It will start with all the hope and promise that every new year holds. Empty pages in a book yet to be written.
But this year’s book has yet to be finished. What am I going to do with it?
I’m going to LIVE! Live the life God has given me. Live to honour Him. Enjoy Him. Worship Him. Fear Him. I’m going to live each day to please Him.
If you’re reading this, you have most likely joined the ranks of those who, from year to year, are heard to utter, “It’s nearly Christmas already!”
However, whether your years go quickly or slowly, each day of each year holds 24 hours. No matter what you have to DO in those 24 hours, remember to LIVE! Live to honour and please Him..
