Thanks, Susan, for a very thoughtful and balanced approach to the subject. I have often wondered about those Scriptures...surely God wasn't calling "good" something that was "evil"!

My mother was a nutritionist and a huge milk fan. She taught her students that if you stop drinking milk for a period of time your body stops producing an enzyme necessary for it's proper digestion: thus, milk-exclusion diets can actually lead to dairy intolerance. I'm certainly not implying all intolerances stem from that cause (some could very well be, as you say, reactions to trace chemicals, etc) but it is a possibility. Thus the "find out if you're allergic by excluding dairy for a time then going back onto it" could actually be self-fulfilling.

Thanks for your example of boldness in calling a spade, a spade, re Evolution.

[...] In Part 1 of ‘Building Up My Faith’, I discussed our need to ‘Call on God’. This in itself is an act of faith, as by it we declare our dependency on God. Calling on God should not only be our first response when challenges arise, but should be our daily habit. We ALWAYS need God. Our very breath depends on Him. Grace, truth, mercy and all good things come only from Him. Don’t ever fall into the trap of believing you are a self-sufficient individual who only needs to call on God in an emergency.
Hi Gary. Yes, I will be posting more information about Creation/Evolution issues. Did you check out part 2 (click the link at the bottom of part 1). Did you click the link under 'Pages' at the top left of this page called 'Why Creation/Evolution'. It just tells a little of my story as to how understanding Creation/Evolution issues has help my family. I will also be posting a lot of articles with links to www.creation.com where you will find heaps of information on the subject. One of those articles here on my blog is called 'Sandy Surprise'. It's in the 'Categories' section under 'Creation/Evolution.
